We continue with Day 3 of Tours of Distinction Circle Nevada. A tour in celebration of Nevada’s 150th Anniversary Celebration. Today begins with the Ruby Mountain Balloon Festival’s mass ascension. We continued touring the Ruby Mountains and the beautiful LaMoille Canyon.
We visited the “Little Church of the Crossroads” in the rural town of Lamoille. Returning for lunch to the historic railroad town of Elko, “the last real cow-town in the American West,” where we learn about “buckaroos” and visited the historic J.M. Capriola Co. saddle shop. The afternoon was spent exploring the California Trail Interpretive Center, where over 250,000 pioneers in the late 1800s traveled 2,000 miles for a new beginning.
This evening we enjoyed another flavor of Elko with a Basque dinner.
